Synopsis:

The play Mrityu na Hatya revolve around a death of a prisoner in police custody.  This tragic incident ironically enough won plaudits for its presentation as an outright comedy.

State terrorism--court deliberations and official statements are so contradictory, that they cause nothing but laughter. Political motive of the ruling-class for such planned terrorism are fully unveiled today to common citizen. Yet it is not possible for them to know any details about these events or its fact. The media makes little fuss initially, but that's all. All become quiet a few days later. As for the State power and ruling class, they retain their character in history – be it in Dario Fo’s Milan, or in British India, or for that matter in Calcutta during seventies may be, during the present times even.  Our farcical play “Mrityu na Hatya” (Death or Murder) speaks of all this and more.
